Through out history, the world has used art to express and protest beliefs, from religion to ideas. Type has combined with picture to aid and support the critical event of all, War. Now, what are the typical characteristics of a war poster? What kind of Type is typically used?
Well, for starters, a typical type for a war posters are large, thick, all upper cap fonts. Fonts such as Aachen standard, Black oak standard, as well as various other San serif and stencil fonts. Typically hand drawn and put at a large size, these fonts combined with there image are used to grab the reader's attention and sway them to support the war or items of war such as weapons, factions or bonds.
